Newcastle //Terrarium Workshops
In today's fast-paced world, finding effective ways to alleviate stress and improve our mental well-being is crucial. One method that is gaining popularity is closed terrariums. These miniature self-contained ecosystems not only bring a touch of nature into our indoor spaces but also offer remarkable therapeutic benefits.
Closed terrariums operate on a self-sustaining cycle known as the water cycle. Water evaporates from the soil and plants, condenses on the container's walls, and then drips back into the soil, maintaining a constant moisture level. This process not only ensures the survival of the plants but also increases humidity within the terrarium, which can have a calming and soothing effect on our well-being.
During this 90 minute workshop you will learn more about the science behind these self-sustaining ecosystems, I will then quickly demonstrate the process of building a terrarium, the tools and materials required to do so and cover all relevant maintenance and plant care advice. Then it’s over to you to choose your plants and create your own unique terrarium!
Refreshments and nibbles will be provided.
